U9 National Football Tournament Toyota Cup 2023 opens

(BNP) – On the afternoon of August 12, the Opening ceremony of U9 National Football Tournament Toyota Cup 2023 was officially held at the Multi-purpose gymnasium in Bac Ninh province.

Participants at the Opening ceremony were Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Hanh Chung, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Council; Journalist Nguyen Phan Khue, Member of Central Team Council, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong and Children's Newspapers and Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. Nguyen Duc Sam, Member of Youth Union’s Central Committee, Member of Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and Head of Local Organizing Committee; representative from Toyota Motor Vietnam Co.,Ltd; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

U9 National Football Tournament is sponsored by Toyota Motor Vietnam Co.,Ltd in collaboration with Vietnam Football Federation, Tien Phong and Children's Newspapers. The tournament is a playground for young players at the youngest age. This is the tournament under the official competition system of Vietnam Football Federation with the aim of “Talent nurture” and development of high-quality players for Vietnamese football.

The tournament takes place from August 10 to August 23 with the participation of 16 teams including Bac Ninh, Phu Tho, T&T Bac Giang, H.Y.S Ha Noi, Hanoi Football Club, KELME Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Viet Hung, Thanh Hoa, Song Lam Nghe An, Dak Nong, Kon Tum, Binh Phuoc Agricultural Extension, PSFC Gia Lai, Luxcom Ngoc Hung, Thuan An Binh Duong, and Van Tam Dong Nai. According to the competition format, 16 teams are divided into 4 tables. The teams compete in a round-robin tournament, calculate points and 2 teams of each table having the best results will be selected to compete in the quarter-finals. The winners of the quarterfinals and semifinals will enter the final.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the home team U9 Bac Ninh had an opening match against U9 T&T Bac Giang. In this match, U9 Bac Ninh showed their outstanding strength when having an overwhelming 3-1 victory against U9 T&T Bac Giang.

Immediately after the Ceremony is the match between U9 Bac Ninh and U9 T&T Bac Giang.


Both teams show their energetic and enthusiastic competitive spirits.
