(BNP) - Van Pham communal house, Lai Ha commune, Luong Tai district was built by local people a long time ago. It is a traditional architectural work with some architectural imprints from the Le - Nguyen dynasties.

According to the stone stele “Tu tạo Nguyễn Phúc bi” established in the year of Dinh Hoi, Vinh Thinh (1707) still preserved at the communal house, in 1707, Van Pham communal house existed and may have been built earlier. Until 1824, it was greatly restored by the people.

Over a long period of history and harsh nature, Van Pham communal house has been renovated many times. Before 1945, Van Pham communal house was a large-scale architectural work including: Great Communal Hall and Emperor’s Harem. The Great Communal Hall has a structure of 3 compartments and 2 wings, an architecture of 4 roofs, 4 curved blades, wooden floors on both sides, and an open door in front. The 3-compartment Emperor’s Harem is connected to the Great Communal Hall to form an architecture of Chinese “Dinh” letter.

During the resistance war against the French colonialists, the floor was dismantled in 1952. In 1962, due to the deterioration of the relic, the locality repaired it. In 2007, the Emperor’s Harem were reduced from 3 compartments to 1 compartment.

The communal house worships Linh Phu deity.

Currently, Van Pham communal house is an architectural complex. Its gate is located close to the road, on the left gable of the communal house. Next to the gate is a large tiled yard, followed by the Great Communal Hall and the Emperor’s Harem.

The Great Communal Hall consists of 5 compartments. The entire column system is built on a circular column base. The roof support frame has different structures.

The Emperor’s Harem is connected to the middle compartment and perpendicular to the Great Communal Hall, creating a closed space. The Emperor’s Harem and the Great Communal Hall are separated by a brick wall with 3 doors. The Emperor’s Harem has 1 compartment. The architectural components of Van Pham communal house are simply decorated, mainly with stylized flowers and leaves.


The ordinations are preserved at the communal house.

Van Pham communal house worships Linh Phu deity, who fought the enemy to save the country and was bestowed with many titles by Vietnamese feudal dynasties.

Van Pham communal house still preserves a system of antiques with many historical, cultural and scientific values ​​such as: 05 ordinations; 18 stone steles dating from 1707 - 1938; legends, thrones, altars of the Nguyen dynasty, etc.

Van Pham communal house was ranked by the Provincial People's Committee as a historical - cultural relic in Decision No. 1626/QD-UBND dated December 21, 2012.
