Youth Pen Contest and Literary Creation Camp for nurturing young talent launched
(BNP) - On October 13, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association (Association), the Department of Education and Training, and the Young Pioneer and Children Newspaper jointly launched the 6th Youth Pen Contest (Contest) with the theme “The future path in me” and Literary Creation Camp (Camp) to nurture young talent in 2024 at the People’s Committee of Lang Ngam commune (Gia Binh).

Since 2019, the contest has been held annually in secondary schools across the province to attract and gather a large number of students to participate.
With the theme “The future path in me”, the entries must reflect the thoughts, actions, and noble qualities of teenagers in their perspective on life. Therefore, the contest gradually forms and builds a humane concept of life and behavior, fostering love for literature, awareness of origin and national identity. Each author can submit many poems and prose works that have not been published or posted on mass media, and they have not joined other competitions.
The contest is launched from October 13 to October 31, 2024. Quality works will be selected to be published in Nguoi Kinh Bac magazine and the website nguoikinhbac.vn. The Association will choose one of them to participate in the National Youth Pen Contest. The Organizing Committee plans to award prizes in December 2024, including A, B, C prizes and some Encouragement and Promising prizes in the prose and poetry categories.
At the launching ceremony, students from Vu Kiet Secondary School (Thuan Thanh town) and Lang Ngam Secondary School (Gia Binh district) were guided and instructed in writing skills by writers and poets, thereby, inspiring their love for literature.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the Camp in 2024 with the participation of more than 30 students from the Youth Pen Club of Vu Kiet Secondary School (Thuan Thanh town). They experienced composing at Luy Lau Folk Culture Conservation Area (Thuan Thanh town), and learned about Bac Ninh-Kinh Bac culture as well as traditional folk-art forms of their homeland.
