(BNP) - On the morning of November 9, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan attended the "Bac Ninh School Milk Program for the period 2025-2030" at Tuan Dao Primary School, Tuan Dao commune.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) developed the School Milk Program in 2000 to raise awareness about the benefits of drinking milk in school for children's development. By 2020, the School Milk Program had been adopted in 68 countries worldwide. In Vietnam, 27 provinces and cities (before the merger) had implemented the "School Milk" Program. The program has recorded significant improvements in nutrition, health and stature of preschool children and students at all levels.
Bac Ninh (old) became the country's second province to undertake the School Milk Program in 2013. Every year from 2020 to 2025, approximately 222,000 to 226,000 students benefit from the Program. Preschool Education serves an average of 88,000 children, while Primary Education serves an average of 134,000 students, with a total expenditure of more than VND 970 billion.

Tuan Dao Primary School is the first school in Bac Ninh province to implement the "Bac Ninh School Milk Program for the period 2025-2030", provided by TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company. Next, the Program will be spread throughout Bac Ninh province with 817 schools; including 425 kindergartens (about 525,455 children); 389 primary and secondary schools (about 316,112 students). The total estimated implementation cost for the entire period 2025 - 2030 is expected to be VND 4,155.7 billion.

Speaking at the Program, Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that this is a program of great humanitarian significance, a sustainable social security policy that the entire political system of the province pays special attention to, invests in and resolutely implements.
The School Milk Program aims to ensure that all preschool and primary school children have access to the best nutrition, contributing to comprehensive physical and mental development. At the same time, it contributes to raising awareness among parents, schools and society about the role of school nutrition, an important factor in the cause of comprehensive human development.
