(BNP) - On the morning of June 10th, a delegation from Bac Ninh province, led by Mr. Pham Van Thinh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and worked with the Bac Ninh Bishopric to promptly understand the thoughts and aspirations of the people and ensure the acceleration of land clearance for the Gia Binh International Airport project and related projects.
Delegates attend the meeting.
Bishop Do Quang Khang, Bishop of the Diocese of Bac Ninh, received and worked with the delegation.
At the meeting, representatives of priests from the Bac Ninh Diocese discussed and proposed solutions regarding the reconstruction and replacement of religious facilities affected by site clearance for the Gia Binh International Airport Project and related projects. They suggested that the province arrange suitable new locations for religious activities, ensuring adequate space, convenient access, and long-term development potential. They also proposed that compensation and reconstruction plans for religious facilities be developed on the basis of objectivity, fairness, and a balanced consideration of interests. In addition, they requested support for temporary worship venues, as well as assistance with resettlement, livelihood restoration, and the stabilization of living conditions for residents affected by the projects.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh affirmed that the province always listens to and shares the concerns and challenges faced by residents in project-affected areas. He stressed that the province is actively studying and implementing appropriate solutions to minimize the impacts of land acquisition and site clearance, while safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of affected people.
Emphasizing that the consensus and sacrifices made by local residents for the common good are highly valued, the Vice Chairman called on relevant agencies and units to uphold their sense of responsibility and accelerate the implementation of assigned tasks. He noted that the province is expediting the development of resettlement areas with the goal of allocating land and issuing land-use right certificates as soon as possible, enabling residents to build new homes. He also directed the Department of Construction to provide standard housing designs and technical guidance, helping residents settle into their new communities and stabilize their lives.
Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh acknowledged and commended the spirit of cooperation, consensus, and exemplary support demonstrated by local Catholic parishioners in implementing the policies and guidelines of the Party, the State, and the province. He expressed his hope that the Bishop, priests, and religious dignitaries would continue to work closely with local authorities, leveraging their influence and standing within the community to encourage public support for the project, thereby contributing to the timely implementation of this nationally significant infrastructure project.
On behalf of the Bac Ninh Diocese and Catholic residents in the project area, Bishop Do Quang Khang expressed his appreciation for the attention, openness, and commitments made by provincial leaders regarding resettlement and efforts to stabilize the lives of affected residents.
Reaffirming that the Bac Ninh Diocese has always accompanied and supported the development of both the locality and the country, and consistently endorsed the policies of the Party, the State, and the province, the Bishop noted that the proposals put forward reflected the legitimate aspirations of local residents to ensure a harmonious balance of interests, facilitate the early stabilization of living conditions and religious activities, and support household economic development. He also expressed confidence that these recommendations would be carefully considered and addressed in a timely manner, helping to build broad public consensus throughout the implementation of the project.
