(BNP)- On the morning of June 2, at the Provincial Convention Center (03/2 Square), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the review and awarding ceremony of the 2026 Bac Ninh Provincial Reading Culture Ambassador Contest. Attending were leaders of a number of provincial departments, units, and sectors along with the winning students.

The Reading Culture Ambassador Contest was an annual activity launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In 2026, the provincial-level contest was implemented by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Education and Training to educational institutions across 99 communes and wards of the province.
After more than 2 months of launching, the contest attracted a large number of students from 4 levels to participate (primary, lower secondary, upper secondary, and students of vocational education - continuing education centers, colleges, and universities in the province) with 195,456 entries from 583 schools across the entire province. The entries were all highly appreciated by the organizing committee due to the large number of quality submissions with rich and prominent content. Many entries showed creativity, being handwritten, painted, or submitted in video-clip format; the submissions proposed practical and highly applicable initiatives, clearly demonstrating the enthusiasm, seriousness, and deep thinking ability of the contestants.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that in 2026, the contest continued to receive the attention and direction of government levels at all stages, close coordination between the culture and education sectors, along with the active response of schools, parents, and students. Communication was widely deployed, creating a strong spreading effect and attracting a large number of students to participate.
The entries were not only rich in format but also contained many profound humanistic messages, contributing to spreading the value of books and reading culture in life. In particular, many contestants proposed practical initiatives to develop reading culture; many solutions applying information technology and creative models were built by the children with high feasibility, contributing to making book reading closer and more attractive to young people.

Through many years of organization, the reading culture ambassador contest had increasingly affirmed its deep and wide spreading power, becoming a useful and meaningful playground for pupils and students. The contest encouraged sharing and spreading the love for books, forming book reading habits and skills for the younger generation, thereby inspiring a passion for reading and developing reading culture in the community.
Summarizing the contest, the organizing committee awarded prizes to 4 collectives and 101 outstanding individuals, including 7 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 25 third prizes, 37 consolation prizes, and 12 thematic prizes.

In the collective prizes, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted was awarded the prize for the unit with the most winning contestants; 03 units were awarded the prize for schools with the highest percentage of participating contestants, including Dinh Bang 2 Primary School, Cao Xa Lower Secondary School, and Lang Giang No. 2 Upper Secondary School. The organizing committee selected the 3 best entries to recommend to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for commendation and reward.
The success of the 2026 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest continued to affirm the important role of developing reading culture in social life. Thereby, it contributed to fostering knowledge and personality, and nurturing the desire to contribute among the younger generation, towards building a learning society and sustainable development in the new era./.
