Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong attends celebration of National Day of Republic of Korea in Hanoi

(BNP) – At the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, on the evening of October 2, a delegation from Bac Ninh province led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ngo Tan Phuong attended the celebration of the National Day of the Republic of Korea in Hanoi.

In his remarks at the reception, Korean Ambassador Choi Young Sam expressed his pleasure at the development of the Republic of Korea–Vietnam relationship in recent years, especially after the two countries upgraded their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022. He also emphasized that the potential for cooperation between the two nations remains vast.

Ambassador Choi Young Sam expressed his belief that with the consensus of the two countries' senior leaders, Vietnam and Korea would continue to cooperate, moving towards a new step forward in bilateral relations.

Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang extended his warm congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Korea on the occasion of their National Day. He affirmed that Vietnam consistently values its relationship with the Republic of Korea and stands ready to work closely with Korea to promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more substantive, effective, and long-term manner — in line with the aspirations of the peoples of both countries and contributing to maintaining a peaceful, stable, cooperative, and prosperous environment in the region and the world.

By September 2025, Korea has 1,139 investment projects in Bac Ninh province, with a total adjusted investment capital of about 20 billion USD (accounting for about 43.5% of the total foreign investment capital in the province), the country with the highest investment capital in the province. Korean enterprises operate effectively and stably, creating jobs for about 90,000 workers and attracting many workers from other provinces and cities, making a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of the province. Typical Korean enterprises investing in Bac Ninh in recent times have all contributed to the local development such as: Samsung Complex, Intops, Hanwha Techwin, Amkor, Hana Micron, Hyosung... In addition, Bac Ninh is not only the homeland of King Ly, but also the destination of Ly Xuong Can (31st generation descendant of Ly Thai To) and many other descendants from Korea returning to Vietnam to find their roots to remember their ancestors.
