30 provincial-level OCOP products received certificates

(BNP) - On December 8, the Provincial Steering Committee for the "One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) programme organized a conference to evaluate, rate and award the OCOP product certificate in 2020 and implement tasks of OCOP 2021 Program in 2021. After 2 years of implementing OCOP program, the province initially achieved important results, creating a deep spread throughout the political system at all levels, businesses, cooperatives and people. Through assessment and classification, in 2020, the  province has 33 products of 15 subjects recognized by the Provincial People's Committee achieving OCOP Program (including 03 3-star products and 30 4-star products).

In 2021, the Provincial People's Committee urged relevant departments, branches and localities to continue promoting propaganda and promotion activities for participating OCOP products; encourage businesses, cooperatives, and households to be creative in production and business; promote the application of technology in preliminary processing and preservation to improve quality and increase product value... striving to have about 10 subjects participating in the OCOP Program, at least 30 products to be assessed, rated and recognized OCOP products, including at least 1 5-star product.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan congratulated the subjects whose products were recognized by the OCOP Program 2020. He suggested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development as the host, working with relevant departments and branches and the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to review and select typical and feasible products to register for OCOP program in 2021 and the following years; make a product standardization plan, promote information and propaganda about role of the Program, the criteria and conditions for OCOP product recognition to businesses, cooperatives and households; review and complete supporting policies for OCOP Program in the province to report to the Provincial People's Committee in the coming time to submit to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and decision…

On this occasion, 33 provincial-level OCOP products in 2020 from 15 enterprises, cooperatives and individual households were granted certificates by the Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the conference, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a signing ceremony with relevant departments and agencies on connection with trade and consumption of OCOP products in the province in the next time.
