9 out of 17 socio-economic targets met or exceeded 2023 plan
(BNP) - At the 15th meeting of the Provincial People's Council, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan presented a report on the implementation of socio-economic development and administration tasks of the Provincial People's Committee 2023 as well as a plan of socio-economic development for 2024.

According to the report, Bac Ninh has proactively taken many synchronous solutions, well-implemented the 2023 work theme and 5 political determinations; 8 "bottlenecks" in socio-economic development were solved. It is estimated that for the 2023, 6 out of 17 targets exceed the set plan; 3 out of 17 targets met the plan; and there were 8 out of 17 targets that need to be strived for to complete the plan.
6 indicators exceed the plan, including average income per capita of VND 70 million (0.7% higher); total investment capital of VND 65.7 trillion (exceeding 9.5%); new FDI capital attraction into industrial parks of USD 1.4 billion (exceeding 16.7%); retail revenue of goods and services of nearly VND 92 trillion (exceeding 7.2%); urbanization rate of 60.3% (exceeds 15.3%); the poverty rate by the end of 2023 reached 0.84% (exceeding 0.06%); and the rate of daily solid waste generated in urban areas being collected and treated reached 96% (1% higher than planned).
In addition, 3 targets were estimated to be achieved as planned: the rate of trained workers was 78%; the rate of the population participating in health insurance was 95.5%; don't let food poisoning happen to large numbers of people.
8 targets are difficult to achieve as planned, mainly economic growth targets: GRDP, import-export turnover, budget revenue, etc.
In 2024, Bac Ninh’s economy sets out 3 political determinations, 17 main targets, 10 tasks, and solutions. Specifically, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increases by 5% to 6%; total import-export turnover is USD 75,830 million, an increase of 3%; total investment capital implemented in the area is VND 70 trillion, an increase of 6.5%; the rate of daily solid waste generated in urban areas being collected and treated reaches 100%; the rate of trained workers is 79%, etc.
