Bac Ninh delegation visits and works with Portugal Global - Trade & Investment Agency
(BNP) - Within the framework of working visit to Portugal, a delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang on May 11 (local time) visited and worked with the Portugal Global - Trade & Investment Agency (AICEP).

Mr. Manuel Antonio Gaeiras, Director of International Relations of AICEP warmly welcomed Bac Ninh delegation. AICEP is the leading trade and investment promotion agency of the Portuguese Government with a global network in more than 50 countries. The AICEP’s goal is to promote the competitiveness and reputation of Portugal. AICEP identifies international business opportunities and provides investment advice, important information for Portuguese businesses to access foreign markets.
On behalf of the delegation, Chairwoman Giang briefed on the province’s economic, cultural and social development with many advantages in terms of transport infrastructure, depth of cultural history, high quality human resources. Bac Ninh has been evaluated as one of the localities with the fastest growth rate; many socio-economic indicators are ranked in the top of the country: Provincial Green Index ranked third in Vietnam. .
Currently, Bac Ninh is approved 24 investment projects of infrastructure development investment of Industrial Parks. Among which, 15 projects have been put into operation and 9 projects are under construction investment, with a total area of 6,865ha. Regarding FDI attraction, so far, Bac Ninh province has granted investment registration to 1,878 projects from 39 countries and territories (China, Korea, Singapore, Japan, European countries...) with a total investment capital of over USD 24.2 billion; invested in 16 industries and fields.
Giang wished AICEP would share experiences, cooperate and support in promoting the attractive investment environment of Bac Ninh province to Portuguese businesses; promote and encourage Portuguese businesses to learn and invest in Bac Ninh province; boots cooperation and investment promotion activities between Vietnamese enterprises and Portuguese enterprises ; create conditions for Bac Ninh enterprises to export goods, especially handicraft products to the Portuguese market.
Giang also suggested AICEP introduce and connect with enterprises specializing in importing agricultural products so that Bac Ninh enterprises can introduce products and expand the market to Portugal.
For his part, Mr. Manuel Antonio Gaeiras highly appreciated the potential and strengths of Bac Ninh. He said that AICEP would widely promote to Portuguese businesses to research and implement investment promotion activities in Vietnam, especially Bac Ninh province in the coming time.
