Bac Ninh organizes program of Quan Ho folk singing on boat

(BNP) – On the evening of February 26, at the lake area in front of the headquarters of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, the program of Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk singing on the boat and the exchange of heritage regions took place with the theme "Sum hop truc mai". The program is reported live on Radio and Television of Bac Ninh province.

Participants at the program were Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; leaders of provinces and cities with intangible cultural heritage honored by UNESCO; provincial departments, divisions and branches; artists and a large audience inside and outside the province.

The program is the focal point in the series of Festival activities "Coming back to Quan Ho land - 2023" with the meaning of connecting and shining the quintessence and identity of Vietnam's heritage types that have been registered by UNESCO as the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity as well as clearly portraying the determination of the Bac Ninh’s Party Committee, authorities and people in the journey to preserve and promote the value of intangible cultural heritages, focusing on the heritage of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk song.

The program opened with a parade of representatives of heritage regions on a dragon boat around Nguyen Phi Y Lan lake.

The heritage of Bac Ninh Quan ho folk song played a connecting role throughout the overall art program through the performances of artisans including the Quan Ho Folk Theater in Bac Ninh and the Mang Non Quan Ho Club.

Besides, there are performances from the heritage regions such as Phu Tho Xoan singing, Nghe Tinh Vi dam, Hue royal court music, Southern Don ca tai tu, and Central Highlands gongs….

Along with the program of Quan Ho folk singing on the boat, there are also many street activities on Ly Thai To street and the surrounding area: Dong Ngu Water Puppet Performance, Huu Chap Tug of war, …
