Bac Ninh Provincial Delegation visits and works in Kazakhstan

Attending and witnessing the signing ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Pham Thai Nhu Mai; Mr. Le Xuan Loi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Kosherbayev Yermek, Governor of East Kazakhstan region.

In August 2023, during the official visit to Vietnam of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at a working session with the leaders of Bac Ninh province, the two sides agreed to sign a MoU to establish a twin town relationship between Bac Ninh province and a province of Kazakhstan. On such basis, Bac Ninh province and East Kazakhstan region exchanged, discussed, agreed on relevant contents, completed the MoU, and proceeded to sign an agreement on establishing a twin town relationship between the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province (the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) and the government of East Kazakhstan region (the Republic of Kazakhstan).

The main content of the MoU is to establish a twin town relationship between Bac Ninh province and East Kazakhstan region. After signing, the two sides will increase delegation exchanges and enhance cooperation in construction industry; information technology; services; agriculture, forestry and fisheries; investment; education; infrastructure; transport and logistics; urban development; tourism; culture; pharmaceuticals. They also encourage and fully support local businesses in their efforts to seek investment opportunities.

The highlight, which stresses strategic importance to the two provinces in the MoU to establish a twin town relationship, is cooperation in some key fields of the economy - industry, infrastructure, logistics, healthcare and tourism. In addition to facilitating investment projects in mutual advantage and interest in advanced technology, there are also opportunities to exchange experiences in management, economics and culture.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan respectfully thanked Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his ongoing efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries, as well as the Bac Ninh province and East Kazakhstan region. The Secretary believed that the MoU’s signing on the twin town relationship between the two provinces would contribute to further promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries in general and between Bac Ninh province and Kazakhstan’s partners in particular, opening up cooperation in all fields of economy, culture, tourism, people-to-people exchange, supplementing investment attraction, trade and export for each other, thus contributing to the common development of Kazakhstan and Vietnam.

In the coming time, Secretary Tuan suggested that the two sides strengthen delegation exchanges at all levels, enhance mutual understanding and create a premise for other cooperation activities. Especially, Bac Ninh will share its experiences and support East Kazakhstan in attracting foreign investment. For trade cooperation, the two provinces will create conditions for exports, especially OCOP products and handicraft products to access each other’s market. Furthermore, the two provinces will promote culture and tourism as well as advertise their land and people, thereby, attracting more tourists from East Kazakhstan region to Bac Ninh and vice versa.

Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan respectfully invited Mr. Kosherbayev Yermek, Governor of the East Kazakhstan region to arrange time to visit and work in Bac Ninh province (Vietnam) in early December 2024. Mr. Kosherbayev Yermek expressed his respectful gratitude to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan and the Bac Ninh Provincial Delegation. He also happily accepted the invitation and agreed to visit and work in Bac Ninh province.
