Promoting traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan

On November 15, at the Presidential Palace, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Also attending the meeting was Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies.

Vietnam and Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations on June 29, 1992. Since then, continuing the traditional friendship with the countries of the former Soviet Union, the two sides' political relations have been consistently strengthened and developed. The two countries maintain high-level exchanges, bilateral relations, and coordinate activities at international forums. The two countries have signed numerous framework agreements on economic, trade, diplomatic, educational, investment, labor, and energy cooperation, etc.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highly appreciated the visit of the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam to deepen cooperation content and traditional friendship relations following the President of Kazakhstan's official visit to Vietnam in August 2023. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized Vietnam's multilateral and diversified foreign policy. In many international and regional issues, the two countries' foreign policies are similar, with a focus on maintaining peace, cooperation, and development, resolving all disputes peacefully, and closely coordinating and supporting each other in multilateral forums.

At the meeting, Thang discussed some major features of the situation in Vietnam and the Communist Party of Vietnam in recent times, especially the achievements that Vietnam has made in the renovation process in the fields of socio-economics and foreign affairs, as well as the strategic orientations that the Communist Party of Vietnam is determined to implement in order to usher in a new era, the era of the Vietnamese national rise.
