Contestants of "Miss Kinh Bac 2019" pageant experience learning about Quan ho folksongs

Contestants of the pageant were instructed how to sing Quan ho folksongs and learned about its unique culture at the hosting house of Viem Xa village, Bac Ninh city.

At Quan ho hosting house in Viem Xa village where is one of the original Quan ho villages of Bac Ninh province, contestants were introduced the history of Bac Ninh’s Quan Ho folksongs, cultural values of the Quan Ho hosting house; instructed how to wear traditional Quan ho costumes as well as how to sing this type of folksongs in the hosting house which is a particular cultural space of Quan Ho’s people being restored. Thereby, contestants had more knowledge about Quan Ho folk songs and felt proud and responsible in preserving and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage.

Through these meaningful practical experience activities, contestants will understand and be proud of their homeland’s culture and history; be provided knowledge on the journey to find the face of the "Tourism Ambassador" of the province. At the same time, it contributes to raising awareness in the preservation and promotion of traditional values of Kinh Bac land, especially when Bac Ninh is preparing activities to celebrate the 10^th anniversary of Quan Ho folksongs honored as the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO./.
