Mr. Nong Shengwen, Member of the Party Standing Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Secretary of the Nanning Municipal Party Committee joyfully welcomed the delegation of Bac Ninh province to visit and work in Nanning. Nanning city is considered to be the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region with the GDP in 2022 reaching over CNY 520 trillion, he said. The city has advantages of location, transportation and many preferential policies, it is an important gateway to serve the building of China-ASEAN community, he added.

Nanning is known as China’s Green City and a place of nostalgia for world folk songs, the city that sleeps late in China... It has many titles such as World Habitat Awards of United Nations, National Civilized City, National Sanitation City, Model City for activities of building progressive national unity and National Model City for dual support.

The Secretary hoped that Bac Ninh province would support and boost cooperation between Nanning city and Bac Ninh province, especially traffic connection, trade promotion and cross-border industrial development as well as jointly building local exchange mechanism in culture and education, thereby contributing to the further development of relationship between Vietnam and China.

Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong expressed his pleasure to visit and work in Nanning city. He thanked the Secretary for the sincere, friendly and respectful welcome to the delegation of Bac Ninh province. He also briefed on Bac Ninh province’s socio-economic and cultural development, advantages as well as potentials. With a favorable geo-economic and political location as well as attractive preferential investment policies, up to now, Bac Ninh has become a shining point in foreign investment attraction with nearly 2.000 valid FDI projects totaling registered investment capital of about USD 24,4 billion from 39 countries and territories… Among which, China has 444 projects with a total capital of USD 950 million. Currently, more than 10.000 Chinese people are living and working in Bac Ninh province. The Chinese community has brought a new look, gradually connected and actively contributed to the province's socio-economic development, Phuong stated.

Phuong emphasized that the establishment of friendly city relations between Bac Ninh city and Nanning city and a cooperation discussion mechanism between Bac Ninh province and Nanning city had an important meaning. This opens up the opportunities for cooperation between two sides in all fields with great potential including economics, culture and society. In the coming time, Phuong hoped that Nanning city would create conditions and encourage Nanning’s enterprises to invest in Bac Ninh, especially in the fields which the province is calling for such as green investment, high-tech industry, supporting industry associated with advanced management and administration method; 5G and 6G end-to-end technology; high-tech and clean agriculture...

In addition, Nanning city implements group exchange activities, grants scholarships to Bac Ninh’s students learning in Nanning city and exchanges youth, culture and art. At the same time, Vice Chairman Phuong hoped that he would soon welcome the delegation of Nanning city to visit and work in Bac Ninh province in the forthcoming time.
