Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang celebrates Buddha's birthday in Bac Ninh

Provincial leaders present flowers to congratulate Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dung.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and the delegation visited and congratulated Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dung, Deputy Dharma Master and Chief Secretary of Certification Council of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at Ham Long Pagoda, Nam Son Ward (Bac Ninh City) and Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, General Secretary, Head of the International Buddhist Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at Phat Tich Pagoda, Phat Tich Commune (Tien Du District).

The Party, State, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and provincial officials politely offered incense, honored Buddha, and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the country at the locations they visited.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang extended congratulations to all dignitaries, monks and nuns, and Buddhists of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha in honor of Buddha's birth, Buddha calendar 2567, and solar calendar 2023. At the same time, he acknowledged and appreciated the positive efforts made by dignitaries, monks and nuns and Buddhists in the province to the development and defense of the Fatherland and the promotion of the great national unity bloc.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that for more than 2,000 years, Buddhism in Vietnam has always unified, attached, and accompanied the development of the nation, actively participated and contributed in all fields. The Deputy Prime Minister believed that 2023 will be the first year to implement the Resolution of the Ninth National Buddhist Congress, and that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will continue to achieve more; mobilize monks, nuns, and Buddhists to join hands to contribute to national construction and development in the new period.

In the coming time, Mr. Quang hoped that Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dung and Venerable Thich Duc Thien would continue to strengthen the strong sense of community among the people and encourage monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the province, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Bac Ninh and the development of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dung and Venerable Thich Duc Thien expressed their gratitude for being visited and congratulated on the occasion of Buddha's birthday by representatives of the Party and State leaders. They also affirmed that monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the province and the whole country always believe in the Party and State, practice peace of mind, unite with one heart, and work together with party committees, governments at all levels, and people from all walks of life to build the homeland, the country becomes more and more beautiful and prosperous.
