Evaluate and classify OCOP products and award Certificates recognizing the titles of traditional crafts and artisans

(BNP) - On the morning of May 22, the Provincial People's Committee organized a conference to evaluate and classify OCOP products and award certificates of traditional crafts and artisans in Bac Ninh province. Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presided the conference.

In the first phase of 2024, the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council received dossiers of 11 products requested to be considered and recognized as achieving 4-star OCOP from 05 subjects, belonging to the food group, medicinal group and products from medicinal materials. Among them, there are 07 products evaluated for the first time and 04 products evaluated again. As a result, 11/11 products were rated 04 stars by the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council.

At the Conference, the Provincial People's Committee announced and awarded a certificate recognizing the title of "Traditional Crafts" in Bac Ninh province for 07 traditional crafts in Thuan Thanh town: Nghi Khuc tofu making profession, An Binh ward; Dong Ho folk painting craft, Song Ho ward; spring roll making profession in Bui Xa, Ninh Xa ward; Dinh To soy sauce making profession, Dinh To commune; fine art wooden furniture craft in Binh Cau village, Hoai Thuong commune; bronze casting profession in Dao Vien village, Nguyet Duc commune; tofu making profession in Tra Lam neighborhood, Tri Qua ward.

Also at the Conference, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates recognizing the title "Artisan" to 07 individuals: Wood mosaic artist Nguyen Van Vien, Khuc Toai ward (Bac Ninh city); Pottery artist Nguyen Dang Nghia, Ha Man ward; Dong Ho folk painting artists Nguyen Huu Hoa and Nguyen Huu Dao, Song Ho ward (Thuan Thanh town); Ornamental artist Nguyen Nhan Phuong, Phu Lam commune (Tien Du district); Ornamental artist Nguyen Thanh Son, Mo Dao commune (Que Vo town); Bamboo and rattan artist Dang Ngoc Phuong, Lac Ve commune (Tien Du district).

Speaking at the Conference, Standing Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan congratulated the groups and individuals recognized for OCOP products, traditional crafts titles, and artisans. He requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with other departments, sectors and localities to continue reviewing and preparing documents to request the Provincial People's Committee recognize traditional occupations to ensure strictness and compliance with regulations.

Regarding the OCOP Program, the Standing Vice Chairman requested continuing to promote and diversify forms of communication, creating spillover power so that more and more products participate in the Program.

Tuan hoped that individuals recognized as "Artisans" would continue to promote their talents and experience, constantly invest, expand production and business, and legitimately enrich themselves and society.
