Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan receives and works with American Semiconductor Industry Association

(BNP) - In the afternoon of October 27, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies received a delegation of the American Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) led by Mr. John Neuffer, President of the Association.

Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan briefed on the province's socio-economic development situation. He said that Bac Ninh province is now approaching and having a direction for development of the semiconductor industry. The province has now 16 industrial parks with 24 investment projects on construction and development of  industrial park infrastructure, attracting more than 2,000 FDI projects from 40 countries and territories. Among them, the United States has 19 investment projects with a total capital of USD 664.31 million, typically: DLH Invest, Inigen, C&D tech Vina, HZO, etc. 4G network was covered in the province with three 5G test stations. Currently, the province is implementing a project of centralized information technology park to meet the requirements of semiconductor industry development as well as researching human resource training policies in the digital industry in general, semiconductor industry in particular.

In the coming time, Tuan hoped that the SIA would serve as a bridge to promote the US semiconductors visits and works in Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh province in particular; create connection mechanism between Bac Ninh province and US semiconductor businesses as well as support Bac Ninh province in training human resources, especially high-quality human resources in the semiconductor industry.

For his part, Mr. John Neuffer expressed his impression on the socio-economic development of Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh province in particular. At the same time, he stressed that Vietnam is one of the important links in the global semiconductor supply chain.

At the meeting, Mr. John Neuffer hoped that the Bac Ninh province would continue promoting the conditions for development of the semiconductor industry in the near future.
