(BNP) - During a working visit to Korea, a delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee and Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, worked with Mr. Lee Cheol-Woo, the Governor of Gyeongsangbuk province on November 8.

Joyfully welcoming the Bac Ninh delegation, Governor Lee Cheol-Woo said that Gyeongsangbuk is the largest province in Korea and the place of many key Korean companies and industrial clusters, including the headquarters of Samsung Group. In addition, the province has now 42 universities with 260,000 students; 2 technology parks, 4 regional research centers, 2 software development promotion centers and 350 R&D centers, Mr. Lee Cheol-Woo added.
He also sincerely thanked Bac Ninh province’s leaders for paying attention and creating conditions for Samsung to operate and develop stably, thereby, contributing to the local economic development.

At the working session, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan briefed on the province’s geographical location, rich cultural and historical traditions as well as outstanding achievements in socio-economic development in recent years, with many indicators among the top in the country such as export value ranked 2nd; GRDP per capita ranked 3rd; total foreign direct investment ranked 4th; and average income per capita ranked 6th in the country, etc.

Tuan stressed that Bac Ninh is considered as a bright spot of the country in terms of foreign investment attraction, with more than 2,000 valid FDI project totaling investment capital of more than USD 25.6 billion from 39 countries and territories. Among which, Korea is the leading country, accounting for nearly 60% of total foreign investment capital in the province; and many enterprises come from Gyeongsangbuk province, he highlighted.

Tuan emphasized the friendly and cooperative relations between Tu Son city and Bonghwa district, Bac Ninh city and Gumi city. He sincerely invited Mr. Lee Cheol-Woo to visit Bac Ninh province in upcoming time and sign a MOU to establish the friendly and cooperative relations between 2 provinces with the aim of promoting the growing exchange and cooperation in all fields.

The Secretary also hoped that the Governor would pay attention to speed up the Vietnamese Village Project in Bonghwa as well as support and encourage Korean enterprises in general and enterprises from Gyeongsangbuk province in particular to research investment in Bac Ninh, especially the fields that the province is prioritizing.
