Vibrant flower gardens and ornamental plants for Tet holiday

Mr. Nguyen Van Nho’s family in Dai Mao village, Hoai Thuong commune, Thuan Thanh town expands the orange cultivation area on riverside land to 38 hectares, harvesting about 150 tons each year, especially strong consumption during Tet holiday, bringing great income to the family.

Many gardens in the province also expand the area to grow oranges, tangerines, pomelo and so on for the people’s needs during Tet holiday.

Until now, the province has converted more than 2,300 hectares of agricultural land to grow fruit trees and ornamental trees for high economic efficiency.

During Tet, many households in the province participate in planting flowers for the people’s needs.

This year, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Sau's family in Dong Son village, Viet Doan commune, Tien Du district plants more than 4 poles of Chrysanthemums and Dahlias.

Thanks to the favorable weather, more than 50,000 chrysanthemums of Mrs. Sau's family are growing well, and they are expected to be harvested before the Lunar New Year Giap Thin. With a wholesale price of VND 4,000 per root in the field, it brings significant income to the family.

As one of the pioneers who brought Phalaenopsis orchids to Gioi Te village, Phu Lam commune, Tien Du district, this year, Ms. Do Thi Mo's family plants more than 30,000 Phalaenopsis orchids on an area of 1,500m2 in the net house.

To date, Mrs. Mo has sold more than 50% of the flowers in the garden. Currently, Gioi Te village has dozens of households growing Phalaenopsis orchids for the Tet market.

In addition, many households in the village participate in growing flowers, ornamental plants or bringing flower gardens and ornamental plants in Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, etc., to sell during Tet.

The Spring Giap Thin 2024 is coming, flower and ornamental plant growers in the province are rushing with the desire to bring higher economic efficiency than previous years. At the same time, they contribute to the beauty of each house and create a warm and joyful atmosphere for each family.
