(BNP) - After the merger, thanks to the potentials and advantages in geographical location and flexibility in direction, management, investment attraction orientation as well as improvements to urban traffic and urban infrastructure, economic diplomacy and the provision of better care for people's lives, Bac Ninh province is making steady progress toward progressively reaffirming the capital region's and the region's highly developed status.
Bac Ninh province aims to build and develop urban areas that meet the criteria of a type I urban area, as a premise for building the province into a centrally-run city before 2030. To fulfills its goals, the province has positioned the contents for development in the new era, creating a breakthrough in development space, especially in traffic and urban infrastructure.
Modern and synchronized transportation infrastructure

The Gia Binh International Airport construction investment project is planned on an area of nearly 2,000 hectares, located across the communes of Gia Binh, Luong Tai, Nhan Thang, and Lam Thao in Bac Ninh province, approximately 40 kilometers from the center of Hanoi. This is a key national project and an important gateway for Bac Ninh to connect with major economic centers both domestically and internationally.
The project is built to meet the 4E international airport standards, with a shared civil security - defense model. It is oriented towards becoming a next-generation smart airport, with fully integrated applications. Modern technologies, full biometrics, operating according to ESG "green airport" standards (integrating environmental, social and governance criteria), integrating a high-class service ecosystem to bring international-class experiences to passengers.
In the first phase until 2030, the project will complete two runways, a passenger terminal, a VIP terminal, along with technical and logistics items, meeting the capacity of about 30 million passengers and 1.6 million tons of cargo per year. After 2030, the airport will continue to be expanded with four runways in total, increasing its capacity to 50 million passengers and 2.5 million tons of cargo per year. This development roadmap is linked to the goal of upgrading service standards: By 2029, reaching Skytrax 4-star standard, by 2032 reaching 5-star standard and by 2037 becoming one of the 10 most beautiful and friendly airports in the world.
The project of the road connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi capital, the section in Bac Ninh province has a total length of about 27.7 km, passing through the communes and wards: Trung Kenh, Luong Tai, Gia Binh, Lam Thao, Mao Dien, Tram Lo, Thuan Thanh, Tri Qua. The project is implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) method, the type of Build - Transfer (BT) contract. The scale of the main route is designed to meet Class I delta road standards, featuring 10 lanes for motor vehicles. In addition, there will be parallel side roads on both sides of the main route, each with 4 lanes. The preliminary total investment is estimated at over VND 47,607 billion.

The Ring Road 4 Project - Hanoi Capital Region belongs to the group of important national projects, passing through 3 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hung Yen and Bac Ninh, connecting the Hanoi - Lao Cai and Noi Bai - Ha Long expressways with a length of 112.8 km. Of which, the section passing through Bac Ninh province has a route length according to the expressway route of 35.3 km, including 25.6 km of Ring Road 4 and 9.7 km of the route connecting Ring Road 4 with Noi Bai - Ha Long expressway. Bac Ninh is assigned to implement 2 component projects: the component project of compensation, support and resettlement in Bac Ninh province (component project 1.3) and the component project of parallel road construction in Bac Ninh province (component project 2.3).
The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project has a total route length of about 390.9km with a preliminary total investment (phase 1) of VND 203,231 billion. The section passing through Bac Ninh province is 3.76km long with an area of about 40.54ha; passing through the wards of Phu Khe, Tu Son, Song Lieu. There is 01 station passing through the area, Yen Thuong Station in Phu Dong commune, Hanoi city and Phu Khe ward, Bac Ninh province. The estimated cost for compensation, support and resettlement is about more than VND 1,085 billion.

The Cam Ly Railway Bridge Project Km24+134 Kep - Ha Long Railway Line was approved in April 2024 with a total investment of VND 796.57 billion. The project is managed by the Railway Project Management Unit under the Ministry of Construction. The project includes a construction package: Construction of the railway section and associated structures, a road overpass crossing the railway, and the Cam Ly road bridge crossing the Luc Nam River. The project starts at the junction with National Highway 37 (in Cam Ly Commune) and ends in Bac Lung Commune, Bac Ninh province. The total length of the entire route is about 3.267km, of which the railway overpass is 287.95m long, Cam Ly road bridge is 631.1m long, and the bridgehead road is 2.347km long.
The scale of the road at the beginning of the bridge is a class III - plain road, with a design speed of 80km/h. The Kep - Ha Long railway overpass is newly built at railway section Km25+633, with a scale of 12m. The Luc Nam river overpass (Cam Ly bridge) is newly built with a scale of 12m.
Major urban centers and smart cities are progressively being developed
The project of the New Urban Area in the Northwest of Bac Ninh city in Kinh Bac ward and Vu Ninh ward has a land use scale of about 418 hectares, with a total investment of nearly VND 73,000 billion, with the goal of investing in the construction and business of a modern, ecological, smart, international-class urban area. The architectural scale of the project includes low-rise housing projects, social housing in the form of apartments, mixed housing and service projects, social infrastructure projects, traffic routes, etc.

Covering on an area of more than 134 hectares, the Nham Bien Mountain Golf Course New Urban Area Project, located in Tien Phong Ward, with a total investment of over VND 6,600 billion. The entire project includes the construction and facade finishing of 979 adjacent houses, each 5 stories high; allocation of 2 plots for social housing buildings of 6 stories; as well as commercial, service facilities and a golf course. The urban area is designed to accommodate housing needs for approximately 5,800 residents.
The investment project to build a new ecological, resort and entertainment service urban area in Lien Bao commune has a scale of about 84.94 hectares, with a total investment of more than VND 13,680 billion. It is an ecological, civilized, modern, environmentally friendly urban area, synchronous in housing, commerce, and services with housing products and construction works for sale, lease, and hire-purchase to organizations and individuals according to the provisions of law, meeting the housing needs and socio-economic development of the locality.
Khuon Than Lake, Bac Ninh province.
Khuon Than urban, eco-sports tourism area, Kien Lao commune, Bac Ninh province is planned to develop resort tourism models, eco-sports, entertainment and key areas of the province. It is a synchronous, modern urban area with technical infrastructure and social infrastructure indicators. At the same time, it is an area to protect and improve the quality of Khuon Than lake's ecological landscape. The planning research area is about 873 hectares; the expected population is about 12,000 - 15,000 people; the number of guests is about 3,000 - 5,000.
The investment project to build a new urban area combined with a football training center is located in Tam Da commune and Kinh Bac ward with an area of about 50.25 hectares, a population of about 10,560 people with a total estimated investment capital of nearly VND 8,200 billion. This is a new urban area combined with a football training center that ensures modern, ecological, and smart criteria with full public utilities./.
