Chairman of Provincial People's Council visits and presents Tet gifts in Ngoc Thien and Tan Yen communes

(BNP) - On the afternoon of January 29th, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Viet Oanh visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, elderly people, relatives of martyrs, and outstanding meritorious individuals in Ngoc Thien and Tan Yen communes on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse).

In Ngoc Thien commune, Chairman Nguyen Viet Oanh and the delegation visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Pham Thi Van (born in 1922), who currently lives with her daughter in Bi village. She has two sons who were martyrs: Pham Ngoc Long and Pham Ngoc Hai.

Next, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ta Thi Kieu (born in 1931), who is currently living with her grandson in Chau Son village, Ngoc Thien commune; she has two sons who are martyrs, Nguyen Xuan Ngoc and Nguyen Van Son.

In Tan Yen commune, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Van Can (born in 1926), an exemplary elderly person who has been outstanding in implementing local policies and actively participating in emulation movements in the village and commune; he is currently living with his son in Ngoai Ha village.

In addition, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Sam (born in 1933), the wife of martyr Nguyen Van Mao, who is currently living with her eldest son in Ngoai village; and visited and presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Van Cau (born in 1944), a distinguished contributor who suffered from chemical poisoning with a 35% body impairment rate and has volunteered as a caretaker at the local Martyrs' Cemetery for over 20 years.

During visits to the families, Chairman Nguyen Viet Oanh and the delegation inquired about their health and living conditions, extended New Year greetings, and expressed profound gratitude for the immense contributions and sacrifices of the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, exemplary meritorious individuals, and the elderly to the cause of national construction and defense.

He hoped that the Mothers, the elderly, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and relatives of martyrs would continue to maintain good health, uphold revolutionary traditions, and serve as spiritual support and shining examples for their children and the younger generation to follow.

He requested that local Party committees and authorities continue to pay close attention to and better care for the material and spiritual lives of policy beneficiary families and meritorious individuals. Timely and full implementation of regulations and policies demonstrates the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," contributing to ensuring that everyone and every family can celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year joyfully, warmly, and with affection.
