(BNP)- On the afternoon of October 9, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan visited and presented gifts to encourage officers, soldiers, shock forces and people who are on duty to protect the dike against overflow of Dau Han dike (Kinh Bac ward).

Due to the impact of storm No. 11 causing prolonged heavy rain, Kinh Bac ward has about 2.3 km of Dau Han dike at risk of overflowing, affecting the safety of the dike system and people's property. According to statistics, the whole ward has more than 600 households affected, mainly concentrated in Dau Han, Qua Cam, Duong Xa 1 and Van Phuc areas.
To proactively respond to floods, from October 7 to the morning of October 9, Kinh Bắc Ward mobilized around 6,000 participants, including 120 soldiers from Division 673 who directly took part in rescue operations on the night of October 8. Each day, there were 50 militia members, 110 rapid response forces, nearly 300 police officers from the provincial to local levels, 250 youth union members, and a large number of local residents actively participating in dyke reinforcement efforts.
