(BNP) - On the afternoon of October 14, a delegation from Hung Yen province led by Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen province, visited, encouraged and supported the people of Bac Ninh province to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods.

Floods on the Cau and Thuong rivers have reached historic heights in recent days as a result of the effects of successive storms No. 10 and 11. More than 15,000 homes have been forced to escape and isolate themselves due to the exceptionally strong floods that have inundated 153 villages and residential groups in 20 communes and wards; over 21,000 houses have been submerged and cut off. In addition, 70% of the dykes in the former Bac Giang province overflowed and broke due to the floods; events have occurred at over 100 dike places; and numerous provincial and national roadways have been eroded and blocked. According to preliminary estimates, the province has suffered VND 1,670 billion in total damage as a result of the floods.

On behalf of the Hung Yen Province’s Party Committee, government and people, Chairman Nguyen Khac Than presented VND 1 billion to the Bac Ninh Provincial Relief Fund. This gift contributes to helping people in areas affected by storms and floods quickly restore production and stabilize their lives. At the same time, he hoped that households in areas affected by storms and floods in Bac Ninh province would continue to promote the spirit of "mutual love and support", focus on overcoming the consequences, and soon return to normal activities after the storms and floods.
