(BNP) - On the evening of January 17th, at the Provincial Cultural and Exhibition Center, the Bac Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Cinema Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism jointly organized the opening ceremony of the Film Week commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - 2026) and welcoming the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

This is a key cultural event, aiming to affirm the immense historical significance of the first General Election, marking a milestone in the development of the Vietnamese State, while also creating an atmosphere of excitement among the people ahead of the 14th National Party Congress. Through carefully selected films of high artistic quality and humanistic content, the Film Week contributes to spreading positive cultural values, vividly reflecting national traditions, and meeting the public's spiritual needs.
Through the Film Week, all people of strata will have more opportunities to access cinematic works of ideological and artistic value, contributing to the enhancement of cultural and spiritual life, fostering national pride and a sense of responsibility in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The films selected for screening during the Film Week are those that won the Golden Lotus and Silver Lotus awards at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival. These are films with widespread social impact, well-received by audiences, achieving good box office results, and possessing high ideological and artistic value. Notably, the documentary "The Keeper of Heritage" and the feature film "Sound Across the Ocean" were chosen to be screened at the Opening Ceremony on January 17th at the Bac Ninh Provincial Cultural and Exhibition Center.
