Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai receives and works with CEO of Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd.

(BNP) – On the morning of April 6, at the Provincial Party Committee headquarters, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai received and worked with Mr. Kim Sung Hun, Chief Executive Officer of Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd., during his visit and working trip to the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kim Sung Hun expressed his appreciation for the warm reception extended by the provincial leaders to the delegation. He also noted that Amkor Technology is a global enterprise with 56 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and testing, headquartered in the United States.

Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. has been investing in Bac Ninh since 2021, with the construction of a modern and fully integrated factory at Yen Phong 2C Industrial Park, with a total investment of USD 1.6 billion. The project has created stable employment for more than 1,500 workers, both domestic and international. The company has also contributed USD 5.75 million to the state budget

Mr. Kim Sung Hun expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese leaders, ministries, departments, and Bac Ninh province for their continued support and cooperation in ensuring the company's stable and efficient production and business operations in the province. In the coming time, Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. will continue to expand its production scale and make further contributions to the development of Bac Ninh’s electronics and high-tech industries.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai briefed on the province’s socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2026, highlighting comprehensive and outstanding results. In addition, he outlined the province’s policies on planning and investing in the rapid and synchronized development of transport and urban infrastructure, particularly the Gia Binh Airport project, as well as road and high-speed railway systems connecting localities within and beyond the province to Gia Binh Airport, with the aim of establishing a large, inter-regional socio-economic ecosystem.

Regarding the company’s proposals and recommendations, the Secretary acknowledged them and assigned the Provincial People’s Committee and relevant departments and agencies to consider and address them within their authority, reaffirming the province’s consistent stance of accompanying and effectively supporting businesses investing in the locality, as the success of enterprises is also the success of the province.

In the coming time, the Provincial People’s Committee will organize a dedicated working session with the company. For issues beyond its authority, provincial leaders committed to closely coordinating with relevant ministries and sectors to advise and submit them to the Government for consideration and resolution in accordance with regulations, ensuring a harmonious balance of interests for the enterprise.
