(BNP) – On May 22, 2025, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province issued the Plan for development of the semiconductor industry in Bac Ninh province to 2030, with an orientation to 2045.
The purpose of the Plan is to turn Bac Ninh into one of the strategic centers of Vietnam's semiconductor industry, build a modern microchip and semiconductor component manufacturing ecosystem, and contribute to improving global competitiveness, specifically:

1. Phase 2025-2030
Bac Ninh strives to establish at least 1 to 2 design enterprises, 1 semiconductor chip manufacturing factory and 5 semiconductor product packaging and testing factories; develop a number of specialized semiconductor products in a variety of industries and fields.
The scale of semiconductor industry revenue in Bac Ninh reaches over 1.5 billion USD/year, the added value in Bac Ninh reaches 10 - 15%; the scale of electronics industry revenue in Bac Ninh reaches over 35 billion USD/year, the added value in Bac Ninh reaches 10 - 15%.
Bac Ninh's semiconductor sector income reaches over USD 1.5 billion per year, while its electronics industry revenue exceeds USD 35 billion per year, with an added value of 10 to 15%, respectively.
The human resource scale of Bac Ninh semiconductor industry reaches over 5,000 engineers and bachelors with appropriate structure and quantity, meeting development needs.
2. Orientation to 2045
The province strives to establish at least 30 design enterprises, 03 semiconductor chip manufacturing factories, 20 semiconductor product packaging and testing factories, mastering research and development in the semiconductor field.
Bac Ninh's semiconductor sector income reaches over USD 10 billion per year, while its electronics industry revenue exceeds USD 100 billion per year, with an added value of 20 to 25%, respectively.
The human resource scale of Bac Ninh semiconductor industry reaches over 10,000 engineers and bachelors with appropriate structure and quantity, meeting development needs.
