(BNP) - On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of Singapore, the Singapore Embassy in Hanoi held a reception to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the National Day of Singapore (August 9, 1965 - 2025) on the evening of August 12. Attending the party were Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Truong Thang and the leaders of ministries, branches, central and local agencies. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung extended his congratulations to the Government and people of Singapore, as well as the Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam. He affirmed that, 60 years after gaining independence, Singapore continues to serve as a source of inspiration for many countries and peoples across the region and the world—including Vietnam

Emphasizing that the Vietnam–Singapore relationship is rooted in people-to-people ties, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that the bilateral relationship has developed strongly over the years. Up to now, Singapore is a key economic partner, the second-largest foreign direct investor in Vietnam, and a trusted partner that has consistently supported Vietnam in its journey of innovation, integration, and national development. In particular, the effective operation of Vietnam–Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIPs) across various localities serves as a model of successful and prosperous cooperation between the two governments and their respective business communities.

In Bac Ninh province, as of August 2025, the whole province has attracted about 187 projects from Singaporean partners, with a total registered capital of over USD 11 billion, ranking 2nd out of 47 countries and territories with large investment capital in the province. In particular, some large-scale projects such as: Fukang Tecnonology Factory Project of Investor Foxconn Singapore Pte.Ltd; New Wing Headphone and Connecting Wire Factory Project; VSIP Bac Ninh Urban and Service Industrial Park Construction Investment Project...
When put into operation, projects by Singaporean enterprises have made significant contributions to the province’s socio-economic development, particularly in economic restructuring, job creation, increasing labor productivity, technology transfer, and introducing modern management practices at the locality.
Bac Ninh province has always identified Singapore as a strategic investment partner and encourages investment cooperation in industries and fields where Singapore excels, such as high-tech industry, supporting industry, environment and energy efficiency, education and training, logistics services, and so on.
In the coming time, Bac Ninh province continues to implement policies and connect entrepreneurs, businesses, and agricultural retail corporations from Singapore to learn about, cooperate, purchase, and import agricultural products with potential and strengths of the province.
Bac Ninh hopes that the Singaporean business community will continue to support the province’s participation in international agricultural events and exhibitions held in Singapore, and further extend support in the education and training sector in line with the Cooperation Agreement between Vietnam and Singapore.
