Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh receives Gyeonggi Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry, South Korea

(BNP) – On the afternoon of February 4th, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh received the delegation from the Gyeonggi Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (South Korea) led by Mr. Bae Hae Dong, President of the Chamber.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh provided an overview of Bac Ninh province's potential and strengths, particularly its geographical location, development space, abundant resources, increasingly synchronized transportation and technical infrastructure systems, and a suitable economic scale and structure to attract investment.

He said that South Korea is currently the leading country in terms of investment capital in Bac Ninh, with 746 active investment projects totaling approximately USD 18.3 billion (accounting for 46.35% of total foreign investment in industrial parks). Korean projects are mainly in the fields of electronic component manufacturing, mobile phones, precision mechanics, agricultural and food processing, service industries, and civil engineering...

Thinh expressed his hope that in the future, Mr. Bae Hae Dong and the Gyeonggi Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry would act as a bridge, connecting and inviting businesses to explore and invest in Bac Ninh; and collaborating with businesses in Bac Ninh to expand investment attraction. Bac Ninh province is committed to creating all favorable conditions and providing support to Korean businesses when investing in localities within the province, he added.

For his part, Mr. Bae Hae Dong introduced Gyeonggi as the most populous province and considered the economic and industrial "heart" of South Korea. It is home to numerous major technology companies, including SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics. He proposed that the two locations' strengths and similarities will foster advantageous circumstances for future successful and realistic investment cooperation.

The group expressed interest in labor resources, land lease rates, and investment incentives in Bac Ninh. They also pledged to assist and link companies from Gyeonggi Province to invest in Bac Ninh, fostering people-to-people and cultural diplomacy between the two regions.

At the conference, the Bac Ninh Industrial Park Investment and Development Support Center, the Gyeonggi Provincial Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, South Korea, and HS Vietnam Investment Consulting Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in promoting investment and supporting businesses in Bac Ninh province.
