(BNP) - On the occasion of the Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum in Quang Ninh, on the afternoon of November 25, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan had a working session with Mr. ITO Naoki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Phan The Tuan expressed his satisfaction in meeting and discussing with Japan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam on the sidelines of the Vietnam-Japan Local Cooperation Forum. He briefly discussed Bac Ninh province's geographical location and socioeconomic development following the merger, with many metrics remaining among the best in the country, including GDP growth rate, import-export turnover, and attracting foreign direct investment.

In terms of cooperation with Japan, the province currently has approximately 126 FDI projects in effect from Japanese partners, with a total registered investment capital of approximately USD 1.98 billion; the total attracted investment capital is USD 2.06 billion. Japanese enterprises investing in Bac Ninh mainly in the fields of processing and manufacturing; many projects when put into operation have contributed positively to the socio-economic development of the province.
Vice Chairman Phan The Tuan sincerely thanked the Japanese Government, especially the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, for their support to Bac Ninh, Bac Giang in the past, and Bac Ninh province after the merger over the years. He hoped that the Ambassador would continue to be a bridge connecting Japanese enterprises to invest in Bac Ninh, especially in the fields of mechanics, electronics, new technology; training high-quality human resources; science and innovation, trade, high-tech agricultural production; cultural exchange... thereby helping Bac Ninh province develop comprehensively, while fostering the good relationship between Vietnam and Japan.

Mr. ITO Naoki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, highly appreciated the rapid and comprehensive development of Bac Ninh province in recent years, which has many cultural similarities with Japanese localities and great potential for stronger cooperation and development in the future.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam hoped that Bac Ninh would soon sign a cooperation program with a number of Japanese localities. The Embassy will be a bridge to connect Japanese businesses and organizations to carry out investment projects in the fields of industry, high-tech agriculture, clean energy, environmental protection, training experts, teaching Japanese in high schools, universities, colleges in the province...
