165 athletes participate in 26th Nagakawa Running Tournament - Bac Ninh Newspaper Cup
(BNP) - In the morning of March 20, at the area of Ly Thai To King statue, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Bac Ninh Newspaper, Department of Education and Training, Provincial Youth Union and Provincial Public Security jointly organized the 26th Nagakawa Running Tournament - Bac Ninh Newspaper Cup in 2022.
The Organizing Committee awardes the Cup and the first prize of the whole delegation to Yen Phong unit.
26th Nagakawa Running Tournament - Bac Ninh Newspaper Cup is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 190th anniversary of the establishment and the 25th anniversary of the re-establishment of the province; the 76th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day, the 91st anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the International Day of Happiness and the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam as well as promote the campaign "All people exercising their bodies to follow Uncle Ho's example" and the Olympic Running Day for the Health of the People in 2022.
The tournament this year attracted 165 athletes from 9 units of 8 districts and cities and the The People's Police University of Technology and Logistics. The athletes competed in 4 categories including men’s champion with the distance of 5,000 m, women’s champion (3,000 m), young men (3,000 m) and young women (2,500 m).
Athletes competed in 4 events: Men's 5,000 m champion; 3,000 m women's champion; young men 3,000 m and young women 2,500 m. The tournament created a great movement throughout the society, strongly promoting the movement of physical training and sports among the people. It contributed to improving the living standard to serve the learning and working, national development and defense, gradually raising the stature and physical strength of Bac Ninh people.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded the championship cup to Yen Phong district, the second prize to Gia Binh district and the third prize to Bac Ninh city. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded individual prizes to excellent athletes.
