9th “Books and Reading Culture” Festival opens

Attending the festival were Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Historian Duong Trung Quoc; representative from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant departments and sectors together with a large number of readers in the province.

The festival is an annual activity and has become a cultural event in the spiritual life of the people in the province. This is a practical activity to successfully celebrate the Party Congress at all levels towards the 13^th National Party Congress and respond to the National Strategy on reading culture. At the same time, it contributes to forming reading habits for everyone, honoring the value of books as well as the importance of reading culture in social life.

Thousands of books and newspapers about the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh; Provincial Journal of Geography; Reference books, foreign language books, children's books, life skills books for students ... were displayed and introduced at the Festival. At the same time, the students participated in a drawing contest with the theme "Bac Ninh in my eyes"; competition "Learn Bac Ninh history - culture through books"… In particular, the talkshow between the historian Duong Trung Quoc and a large number of readers and students of Primary and Secondary schools such as Suoi Hoa, Dai Phuc (Bac Ninh city).

On this occasion, the group of authors of historian Duong Trung Quoc presented electronic geodetic documents about Bac Ninh to the province.
