Chairwoman of Provincial People's Committee congratulates Buddha's Birthday at Dau Pagoda
(BNP) - On May 13, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang congratulated on the occasion of Lord Buddha's Birthday in the Year of Buddhist Calendar 2568 (2024) and admired the National Treasure of the Woodblocks of Dau Pagoda (Thanh Khuong ward, Thuan Thanh town).

Dau Pagoda is the Ca pagoda in the Tu Phap pagoda system in the Dau region. It is an ancient pagoda with a long history and is considered the ancestral temple of Vietnamese Buddhism. Visiting Dau Pagoda, Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang sent greetings and congratulations to the Venerables, monks, nuns, and all Buddhists to welcome a peaceful and happy Buddha's birthday season.

Admiring the National Treasure—the Woodblocks of Dau Pagoda, the Chairwoman requested Thuan Thanh town and the Dau Pagoda Relics Management Board in coordination with specialized agencies to make a special protection plan for each National Treasure at Dau Pagoda, as well as build and effectively implement conservation and promotion programs for promoting the value of the National Treasure.

Currently, Bac Ninh reserves 1,589 relics, including 4 special national relics, 204 national relics, 457 provincial relics, and 18 artifacts and groups of artifacts recognized as a national treasure. In recent years, Bac Ninh province has always paid attention to the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, thereby, contributing to the local’s socio-economic development.
