Delegation of Bac Ninh province promotes investment and trade in Monaco, Italy, Switzerland
(BNP) - From October 15 to 24, a delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had investment promotion activities in Monaco, Italy, and Switzerland.

Joining the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Loi, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of Propaganda Department of Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the provincial departments and sectors.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong said that Monaco and Vietnam have established diplomatic relations since 2007. He introduced Bac Ninh province’s geographical location and socio-economic information. He also said that Bac Ninh province identifies the development of transportation infrastructure as an important premise for the province's socio-economic development. Regarding public transport, Bac Ninh is gradually upgrading the quality of its public transportation services to meet the needs of both residents and tourists. Last September, the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision on the Project "Developing public passenger transport by bus in Bac Ninh province to 2030, with a vision to 2035", which included the Bac Ninh - Noi Bai inter-provincial route. In the coming years, Bac Ninh will prioritize the development of smart urban transportation, promote public transport, diversify forms of transportation and improve logistics capacity to turn this sector into one of the province's key economic sectors.

The Vice Chairman affirmed that the visit would open up opportunities for cooperation and exchange between the two sides, especially in the field of transportation. It is well-known that CAM is the company that operates the public bus system in the Principality of Monaco, which provides convenient and efficient transportation services for both locals and tourists. He expressed his impression of the bus network covering the entire Monaco, connecting residential areas, tourist attractions, etc. In particular, the application of Monapass software helps passengers look up schedules, buy tickets, and track routes. The usages of electric and hybrid buses reduces air pollution.
CAM, with its experience and advanced technology in the field of public transportation, will be an important strategic partner, helping Bac Ninh in learning and using efficient solutions to create a sustainable, smart, and modern transportation system. Bac Ninh province hoped that the two sides would jointly seek specific cooperation opportunities, contributing positively to the common development of both localities, such as: technology transfer and experience exchange; environmental research and investment in construction, infrastructure development, support in designing and building smart bus stops, introducing modern, cashless payment systems that are friendly to customers; support and research to develop new products.

Ms. Marie Agnès de Rechniewsk, General Director of CAM, thanked and welcomed the delegation of Bac Ninh province for visiting, learning about and exchanging cooperation opportunities between the two sides. She said that Monaco is an extremely rich and modern country, with a convenient and unique public transport system: the bus network covers most the majority of principality, allowing visitors and residents to easily travel to attractions, shopping areas and residential areas; buses run on a regular and frequent basic, ensuring the travel needs of residents and visitors; the road system and facilities such as escalators and elevators are well maintained, clean and modern. The transportation system is very diverse (buses, public bicycles) and easily accessible.
CAM was founded in 1939 and is in charge of operating the principality's public transportation network. CAM is environmentally concerned and implemented solutions to minimize its impact, while remaining committed to providing high-quality service that ensures customer comfort and convenience.

Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong thanked Piuarch for the warm welcome and said that Bac Ninh has transformed from a purely agricultural province to one of the country's top industrial centers. The urbanization rate increased from 9% in 1997 to 60.3% in 2023, exceeding the plan by 15.3% and 18.5% higher than the national average.
The first Bac Ninh Urban Planning Project was approved in 2015, and the province’s administrative centers were built in turn with creative architecture, combining modernity and tradition. In September 2024, Bac Ninh province held a conference to announce the Planning and Investment Promotion of Bac Ninh province in 2024, marking an important milestone in the journey to realize the Provincial Planning. During the conference, Bac Ninh province handed over many cooperation agreements to investors.

Vietnam and Italy established relations in 1973. In 2013, the two countries officially established a strategic partnership. In 2023, Bac Ninh province's export turnover to Italy was about USD 309 million. In the first 9 months of 2024, the province's export to Italy reached about USD 233 million. Up to now, there are 04 Italian projects in Bac Ninh province, with a total estimated investment capital of USD 50 million.
With Piuarch's extensive experience and creative vision and the strong development potential of Bac Ninh, the Vice Chairman hoped that the two sides would cooperate and develop in the field of urban planning, consulting on the design of important architectural works, combining modernity and tradition such as commercial centers, conference centers, etc.; training, exchanging experiences, and improving capacity between architects and urban management officers of the province.

*On October 22, in Switzerland, the Bac Ninh provincial delegation met and worked with the Swiss Global Enterprise (SGE) to learn experiences in developing trade, services, and training human resources.
At the working session, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong introduced Bac Ninh province’s geographical location and socio-economic situation. The province’s infrastructure quality is ranked 8th in Vietnam, according to 4 evaluation factors: industrial parks, roads, electricity, telecommunications and other infrastructure.

Bac Ninh province's future focus will be on investing in high-potential industries that align with the orientation of sustainable development, with special attention to high-tech industry, green industry, and high-quality services.

The Swiss Global Enterprise is well-known for its extensive network and support team worldwide. The Vice Chairman hoped that the SGE would be a bridge to promote and encourage Swiss enterprises to explore investment in Bac Ninh province in areas such as: clean energy, high-tech industry (energy batteries, semiconductors, chips, etc.), supporting industry (auto parts manufacturing, etc.); 5G, 6G terminal technology; high-end commercial service complexes (commercial centers, entertainment, international training and medical services, etc.); infrastructure investment projects, urban and ecological development.
Phuong pledged that Bac Ninh province would create the most favorable conditions for businesses to operate effectively in the province. He believed that with its existing advantages, Bac Ninh would be an attractive destination for Swiss investors, especially in the fields of processing industry, high technology, renewable energy, etc.
