Online conference to evaluate work of building Vietnamese working class in period of promoting industrialization and modernization
(BNP) - On the morning of December 10, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held an online conference to evaluate the results of 15 years of implementing Action Program 399/CTr-BCH dated March 7, 2008 implementing Resolution 20-NQ/TW dated January 28, 2008 of the 10th Party Central Committee on "Continuing to build the Vietnamese working class in the period of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country".

At the venue of Bac Ninh Provincial Confederation of Labor, Mr. Than Van Vong, Vice President of the Provincial Confederation of Labor chaired the conference. Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission also attended the conference.
Over the past 15 years, Trade Unions at all levels have been proactive and active in terms of organizational and operational innovation. Workers and laborers have made efforts to study and improve their education, knowledge, professional skills, industrial style, and sense of organization and discipline. Workers have gradually mastered advanced science and technology, increasing labor productivity and making substantial contributions to restructuring, growth, and economic quality. The Vietnamese working class has gradually modernized and grown, contributing to the country's economic development the advancement of our country's industry towards industrialization and modernization.
In Bac Ninh, immediately following the issuance of Resolution 20-NQ/TW, the Provincial Party Committee deployed the development of an action program outlining the contents, goals, tasks, and solutions for building a strong working class to meet the country's industrialization and modernization requirements. Trade unions at all levels proactively disseminated and developed specific action plans for each level on implementing the Resolution. The role and position of trade union organizations are increasingly affirmed; they are actively innovating the content and methods of operation, performing well the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the rights and interests of union members and workers, and contributing to the development of the Party, government, and so on.
Up to now, Bac Ninh has nearly 467 thousand workers working in factories and enterprises, an increase of 5.6 times compared to 2008. Of which, 0.5% are workers in state-owned enterprises; 38.5% are workers in non-state enterprises and 61% are workers in foreign-invested enterprises.
At the conference, delegates exchanged and shared practical experiences in implementing Resolution 20-NQ/TW in localities and enterprises as well as contributed solutions to strengthen the protection of workers' rights, improve labor productivity and apply science and technology in production, thereby affirming the determination to continue implementing the contents of Resolution 20-NQ/TW, making the working class the core force in the cause of national development, especially in the context of strong international integration and digital transformation today.
The conference also summarized and awarded prizes for the Contest "Union Congress Resolutions and Actions of Union Members and Workers".
