PPC’s Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong receives and works with Vietnamese Association in Kansai region, Japan

(BNP) – On the morning of April 11, Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC), Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Bac Ninh province received and worked with the Vietnamese Association in Kansai region (Association), Japan led by Ms. Le Thuong, Chairwoman of the Association.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Phuong welcomed the Association  and quickly informed them of the outstanding achievements in the province's socio-economic development in recent times, with many indicators among the top in the country, with a total investment capital of more than USD 25 billion from 41 countries and territories, of which, there are more than 100 Japanese projects with a total investment capital of more than USD 1.68 billion.

Phuong also said that a working delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council visited and worked in Japan in September 2023. In particular, in 2023, the province organized a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, including the signing of a cooperation memorandum between the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Bac Ninh province and the Vietnamese Association in Kansai region.

The Vice Chairman hoped that the Association would soon deploy Japanese language training and career guidance activities for young people in the province, establish the Association of Bac Ninh Compatriots in Japan, and facilitate cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries, bringing the province's typical products and strengths to Japan. He assigned relevant departments and sectors to research, advise, and connect with the Association in order to carry out activities as soon as possible.

For her part, Chairwoman Le Thuong said that the Association would coordinate and cooperate with local authorities of Japan to establish the Association of Bac Ninh compatriots in Japan as well as connect Bac Ninh province with a number of Japanese localities in cultural exchange activities as well as promote trade and investment cooperation.

She also expressed her hope to receive the attention of the provincial leaders in supporting Japanese language, high-quality human resource training, and career guidance for young people in the province, thereby contributing to promoting investment cooperation of Japanese businesses in Bac Ninh.
