Provincial leader receives and works with Japan – Vietnam Friendship Association
(BNP) – In the morning of December 11th, Vice Chairman of Provincial Peoples’ Committee Nguyen Van Phong received Mr. Toshimichi Maeda, Chairman of Japan – Vietnam Friendship Association in the Chukyo region of Japan, who is visiting and presenting 200 cherry trees to Bac Ninh province after the Lunar New Year 2018.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Toshimichi Maeda thanked the reception of Bac Ninh’s leaders and said that in 2018, it would be the sixth year of Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association to donate and plant cherry trees in Vietnam. The Japanese cherries in Vietnam will help to develop friendly bilateral relations between Japan and Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh in particular.
He hoped Bac Ninh province to coordinate, facilitate and select sites for handing over and receiving 200 cherry trees on March 13th 2018.
On behalf of provincial leaders, Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Phong expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Toshimichi Maeda to visit and work in the province and thanked Japan’s attention and love for Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh province in particular in the past years.
He stressed that Bac Ninh is an attractive destination for investors from more than 30 countries and territories. Among which, there were 78 Japanese enterprises with total investment capital of more than USD 1.3 billion, contributing to creating jobs for about 35,000 laborers and paying VND 500 billion per year to provincial state budget.
Beginning in 2017, 100 Japanese cherry trees were planted in Nguyen Van Cu Park, Bac Ninh city of the northern of Bac Ninh.
The Vice Chairman assigned Department of Foreign Affairs to coordinate with relevant departments and sectors in order to develop plan and select suitable locations to receive and plant 200 cherry trees in the beginning of 2018./.
