Retail sales of goods and services increases by 28.3%

(BNP) - According to Office of Statistics, total retail sales of goods and services in May was estimated at VND 4,062.4 billion, up 28.3% over the previous month and down 13.3% compared to the same month last year.

Retail sales of goods in May was estimated at VND 3,069.2 billion, up 31.3% over the previous month but still down 13.4% compared to the same month last year.

11 product groups all had higher growth than the general rise index over the previous month, of which, a number of essential product groups rose sharply such as food and foodstuffs; garments; utensils, tools and household equipment; educational products and culture; vehicles…

In May, total revenue of accommodation, catering services, tourism and other consumer services was estimated at VND 993.2 billion, up 19.6% over the previous month and down 12.9% over the same month last year. Of which, accommodation and catering services reached VND 362.7 billion, up 19.9% and down 28.9%; other consumer services gained VND 630.4 billion, up 19.5% and reached approximately the same month last year.
