Aquaculture production and exploitation reach more than 6,300 tons

(BNP) – Thanks to the favorable weather, the increase of selling price of aquatic products, high demand for Tet and festive season, aquaculture continues to be invested and developed, especially fish cage farming in the river.

So far, the whole province has 127 cage fish farms with a total of 1,737 cages. Fish cage production in 2 first months was estimated at 752 tons, up 1.8%. By the end of February, aquaculture area was 5,037 hectares, down 3 hectares compared to the same period last year.

Generally, the output of aquaculture production and exploitation in January, February 2019 reached 6,307 tons, seeing an increase of 0.3% compared to the same period last year. In particular, aquaculture production reached 6,121 tons, up 0.4%.
