Bac Ninh attracts nearly 1 million tourists
(BNP) - According to Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 6 months of 2023, Bac Ninh province welcomed 950 thousand tourists, an increase of 68% over the same period in 2022; total revenue reached VND 672 billion, up 76% over the same period in 2022.
Festival "Coming back to Quan Ho land 2023".
From the beginning of the year, a series of traditional festivals in the province took place in early spring, attracting a large number of tourists to visit such as: Ba Chua Kho Temple Festival (Bac Ninh city); Lim festival, Phat Tich pagoda festival (Tien Du district); But Thap pagoda (Thuan Thanh town), Temple Do festival (Tu Son city) ... Along with that, many cultural, sports and tourism activities are rich and vibrant at the Festival program " Coming back to Quan Ho land 2023", which connects the essence of UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritages, attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists to Bac Ninh.
In addition, Bac Ninh successfully hosted a number of national and international sports tournaments such as: Round 1 of the National Volleyball Championship in 2023; 2023 Davis Cup World Group II play-offs; The 2023 National Ethnic Wrestling Championship…, creating a playground for sports teams to exchange, rub, and learn from competition experience as well as contribute to promoting and introducing the land, people and potentials and strengths of Bac Ninh to domestic and international friends.
Furthermore, the province also well-managed the activities of travel agencies and tourist transportation companies, particularly those that send tourists abroad for tourism; directed tourist accommodation business establishments to publicly list and sell at the proper price, as well as increase the quality of facilities and equipment to ensure the satisfaction of visitors. The system of material and technical facilities for tourism service business is increasingly developing in a professional and modern direction, thereby creating positive changes in tourism development and improving the tourism environment for domestic and international tourists.
In the coming time, sector of Culture, Sports and Tourism will carry out a number of key tasks such as: Advising on the development of a number of regulations to support the development of community-based tourism in the province and a draft Regulation on management of tourist attractions; strengthening tourism promotion: publications, billboards... Directing tourism promotion organizations to respond to the National Tourism Year in Binh Thuan; building and developing a number of tourism programs promoting the value of major cultural institutions in the area; organize a number of meeting programs with tourism businesses on tourism development.
