Bac Ninh strives to be one of first provinces to meet standards of universal preschool education for children from 3 to 5 years old
(BNP) – This is one of the goals in a Plan to implement the Politburo’s Directive on universal education, compulsory education, adult literacy and promote student streaming in general education issued by the Provincial People’s Committee.

According to the Plan, in 2025 and the following years, for universal preschool education for 5-year-old children, 100% of them will be mobilized to attend classes and study 2 sessions per day; all of them will complete the preschool education program. Bac Ninh province strives to be one of the first provinces in the country to meet the standards of universal preschool education for children from 3 to 5 years old.
For universal primary education, 100% of 6-year-old children enter grade 1 and 11-year-old children complete primary school; over 99% of people with learning disabilities have access to education. Bac Ninh province meets the level-3 standard for universal primary education. In terms of universal secondary education, 100% of young people and adolescents aged 15 to 18 have a secondary school diploma. Bac Ninh province meets the level-3 standard for universal secondary education.
For illiteracy eradication, over 99.95% of people aged 15 to 60 are literate at level 1 and over 99.9% are literate at level 2; 70% of people with learning disabilities have access to education. Bac Ninh province firmly maintains the standard of eliminating illiteracy at level 2.
In terms of student streaming in general education, 100% of secondary schools and high schools have vocational education programs. At least 15% of secondary school graduates continue to study both general education and vocational training at the elementary level or to join intermediate level training at vocational-continuing education centers or other vocational education institutions.
The Plan aims to continue improving the quality of preschool education for 5-year-old children, primary and secondary education, and strengthening student streaming after secondary school; improving the quality of preschool, primary and secondary education by implementing the new general education program, meeting the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training in the current period. It also improves the effectiveness of career guidance and student streaming after secondary school, creating conditions for high school graduates to choose a suitable direction, access careers and lifelong learning, contributing to improving the quality of human resources, building Bac Ninh province into a centrally-run city by 2030.
