By 2030, Bac Ninh province strives to have 9 solid waste treatment plants
(BNP) - According to Bac Ninh province planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 that was approved by the Prime Minister, the province will have 9 solid waste treatment plants by 2030.

Along with that, the province invests in building waste incinerations to urgently treat household waste in Tu Son city, Yen Phong and Tien Du districts. It also researches investment in the new construction of hazardous solid waste treatment areas with an inter-regional nature and speeds up the investment progress of high-tech waste incineration power plant for energy generation in the province.
The authority completes waste treatment infrastructure for medical facilities and centers in the province. It constructs, upgrades and operates the domestic wastewater treatment plants in urban areas, concentrated residential areas and industrial zones - clusters as well as craft villages to ensure that the treatment meets environmental technical standards before being discharged.
For cemetery planning, old cemeteries will be zoned and renovated following the garden cemetery model. The cemeteries that are within the scope of urban development or do not meet environmental requirements will be gradually relocated.
The competent agencies build new cemeteries and cremation facilities according to urban and rural planning. They ensure that each district-level administrative unit has 1 - 2 centralized cemeteries and prioritize the use of new burial technology that is suitable to each locality’s development conditions and environmental requirements.
They further arrange at least 1 funeral home for 1 district-level administrative unit and funeral homes in urban areas to ensure urban classification standards.
