(BNP) - A delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong visited and worked in Kazakhstan from April 21 to April 27.

The working aims to promote local-level cooperation between Bac Ninh and East Kazakhstan provinces. It is also an opportunity to survey the development potential and multifaceted cooperation between Bac Ninh and the localities of Kazakhstan, especially in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

On the morning of April 23, the delegation worked with the Kazakhstan Investment Promotion Agency. The two sides exchanged information and shared experiences on foreign investment attraction and how to effectively operate industrial and high-tech parks.

Vice Chairman Phuong briefed on the potentials, strengths, and incentives for domestic and foreign investors and called on Kazakh businesses to research and invest in the fields such as pharmaceutical industry, machine manufacturing, agricultural-industrial complex, light industry, tourism, information and communication technology, and energy industry. He is committed to creating favorable conditions for Kazakh businesses to seek investment opportunities in the province.

The delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Astana. The Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Pham Thai Nhu Mai announced new developments in the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan. The two countries strengthened the exchange of delegations at all levels, including high-level ones, particularly the President Tokayev of Kazakhstan paid an official visit to Vietnam. In 2023, the two countries' turnover reached USD 970 million, about twice as much as in 2022. Vietjet has opened direct flights from Nha Trang to Almaty and Astana with a frequency of 5 flights per hour. This week brings hundreds of thousands of tourists from Kazakhstan and other countries in the region to Vietnam. The Ambassador acknowledged the efforts of Bac Ninh province in promoting cooperation and sisterhood with East Kazakhstan province. She pledged to support the authorities and businesses of Bac Ninh province to promote cooperation with localities of Kazakhstan.

The Vice Chairman thanked the Vietnamese Embassy in Astana for creating conditions to support Bac Ninh province in twinning with East Kazakhstan province. He expressed his hope to receive support from the Embassy to soon sign the Memorandum of Understanding on twinning cooperation between Bac Ninh and East Kazakhstan. At the same time, he suggested that the Embassy serve as a bridge to promote and encourage Kazakh enterprises researching and investing in Bac Ninh as well as pay attention to promoting and supporting Bac Ninh's efforts to persuade UNESCO to soon recognize Dong Ho folk painting craft as an intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection for humanity.
