Film "Dawn Ahead" about life of General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu wins 2023 Silver Kite Award

The TV series titled "Dawn Ahead" was written and directed by director and Meritorious Artist Bui Tuan Dung. The film consists of 10 episodes, each lasting 45 minutes. The film was directed by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, chaired by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the occasion of the 110th birthday of General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu (09 July 1912 - July 9, 2022).

"Dawn ahead" is a story about an An Nam youth searching for light and truth, the process of observing, perceiving, thinking, acting and growing up and heroically sacrificing himself. The film fully and comprehensively reflects the places where Nguyen Van Cu lived, studied and fought for revolutionary activities and sacrificed gloriously.

Young actor Nguyen Thanh Tuan plays General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu in the film and was awarded the 2023 Promising Actor Award.

The film aims to educate generations about revolutionary traditions; help cadres, party members and people understand the background and revolutionary career of General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu – an outstanding son of the nation and Bac Ninh homeland.

The 20th Kite Awards 2023 ceremony took place on the evening of September 9, at Do Theater (Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa), gathering nearly 1,000 participants, including more than 500 filmmakers, directors, distributors, and more than 100 actors. The 2023 Kite Award honored 6 categories: Short films, documentaries, scientific films, animated films, television series, and feature films.
