Historical site of Niem Xa communal house
(BNP) - Niem Xa communal house was originally built during the Le Dynasty (18th century). During the resistance war, the communal house was partially destroyed. After many restorations, it was rebuilt in the traditional architectural style in 2011. It was ranked as a historical and cultural relic by the Provincial People's Committee in 2007.
Niem Xa Communal House is currently located on an area of 609.7 square meters. A large crescent-shaped lake is in front of the communal house. In front of the communal house is a gate, but there is no surrounding wall to keep it open to the surrounding area. In general, the landscape of Niem Xa Communal House is airy with an open space, in harmony with nature.
The communal house has an architecture of Chinese “Dinh” letter, including 3-compartment Dai Bai and 2-compartment Hau Cung.
Niem Xa Communal House is a cultural and religious work worshiping the famous general Le Phung Hieu, who had great merit in helping King Ly Thai Tong suppress the "Three Kings' Rebellion" (1028), defeat the Champa invaders (1044), and had many great contributions to the people and the country.
The communal house is still preserved typical artifacts such as 2 stone steles (1858, 1880); 5 ordinations; 1 sacred relic; 1 Nguyen Dynasty throne; 3 Nguyen Dynasty parallel sentences; 2 Nguyen Dynasty horizontal lacquered boards; 1 set of eight treasures of Nguyen Dynasty; 1 Nguyen Dynasty book.
The traditional festival of Niem Xa communal house is held from the 8th to the 12th of the first lunar month.
