Labor Usage Index continues to decrease

(BNP) – According to information from Statistics Office, labor usage index in October decreased 0.8% compared with previous month and 7.8% in comparison with same month of last year.

Accordingly, FDI sector decreased 1.1% compared with previous month and 10% in comparison with same month of last year, because some enterprises stepped up the application of automation technology to replace labor in some stages. In particular, Samsung Display Vietnam Co., Ltd has the second largest labor scale, the number of people working in October was 30.5 thousand people, down 4.6% against the previous month and down to 30.5% over the same month last year. Meanwhile labor usage index of the state sector increased by 1.1% and 5.8%; labor usage index of non-state sector increased by 0.6% and 4.2%, respectively.

After 10 months this year, labor usage index of industrial enterprise rose by 2% compared with same period of last year. Among which, sector of manufacturing and processing increase by 2%; sector of power production and distribution at 0.7%; sector of water supply and water supply and waste management at 11%. Besides, the state sector increased by 5.1% in comparison with same period of last year, the non-state sector at 1.2% and FDI sector at 2.1%.
