National Karate Championship 2020 closed

(BNP) - On October 13, the closing ceremony of National Karate Championship 2020 took place at Provincial Multi-Purpose Stadium.

After 04 days of competition (from October 10 to October 13), nearly 300 athletes from 35 provinces, cities and the Public Security and Army sector competed in nearly 300 matches in kata and kumite categories. Karate Bac Ninh team has 10 athletes, only competing in the kumite category.

At the end of the tournament, Hanoi city ranked first with 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 6 bronze medals; Public Security ranked second with 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 2 bronze medals; Army ranked third with 3 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 1 bronze medal.

Bac Ninh team won 6 medals of all kinds including 2 gold medals, 4 bronze medals (exceeding the target set by the training board); ranking 7th out of 35 participating units. Among which, 2 gold medals (athlete Nguyen Dang Chien , class 54kg; Nguyen Van Nhat, class 70kg); 03 bronze medals (athlete Ngo Van Hung, class 48kg; Nguyen Van Hiep, class 82kg; Nguyen Tien Tung, class 78kg); 1 team bronze medal.
