National relic – Long Kham communal house

(BNP) - Long Kham communal house (Viet Doan commune, Tien Du district) was built in the Le Dynasty (about the 17th century). Over time, the communal house has been restored many times but still retains many architectural and artistic values.

Long Kham communal house worships the Tutelary god Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, a politician, military, and royal family of Dai Viet under the Tran Dynasty. In addition, the communal house also worships the Tutelary god Duc Thanh Vuong, Dong Chinh Vuong and Vu Duc Vuong.

The communal house consists of Front Ceremonial Hall with an architecture of Chinese “Nhat” letter and Emperor’s Harem with an architecture of Chinese “Dinh” letter.

Every year, Long Kham communal house festival is held on the 20 August lunar calendar.

Long Kham communal house together with traditional festivals and spiritual activities have contributed to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, building solidarity of the community.


 

Long Kham communal house has been classified as a National Historical and Architectural Relic in Decision No. 154/QD, dated January 25, 1991.
