Provincial Library serves over 41,300 readers
(BNP) - In 2024, the Provincial Library serves 41,326 readers who come to visit and use documents, thereby, contributing to developing a reading culture in the community.
Many people visit and learn about books, newspapers and magazines about Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs.
In 2024, the Provincial Library issues and exchanges 6,026 reader cards, circulates 180,293 books, newspapers, and magazines; organizes 03 thematic talks; compiles and publishes 12 monthly newspaper and magazine excerpts; 04 thematic directories; creates and posts 16 videos introducing books in the "Reading with me" section on the Library's Website and Fanpage. It also updates 470 book titles on the Library's website; introduces 52 books in the "One book a week" section on the Provincial Radio and Television Station with the aim of helping readers who have a positive habit of proactively, thus equipping themselves with knowledge from the library's books and newspapers, building a reading culture and contributing to honoring book readers and book collectors.
From the beginning of the year, the Provincial Library organized an exhibition of Spring books, newspapers and magazines with the theme "Glorious Party, Great Uncle Ho, Renewed Homeland" with over 100 publications of newspapers and magazines from central press agencies and magazines, local Party newspapers nationwide; published over 4,000 copies of books, newspapers, magazines and art book models with many themes: Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh; Culture and people of Bac Ninh; Traditional customs and practices, traditional festivals of Vietnam...
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954-2024), the Provincial Library organized many activities: Compiling and displaying the full-text thematic directory "Dien Bien Phu - Vietnam's strength - The stature of the era" including 962 pages with 4,000 articles printed on A1 size; displaying 15 art book models, 38 prize-winning paintings at the Drawing contest "I love Dien Bien soldiers", 40 typical photos, 01 map and 265 books about the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory; organizing a talk on "Dien Bien Phu Victory - Vietnam's strength, the stature of the times".
The Library further organized the Book Festival and Reading Culture in 2024 with the theme "Reading: Unleashing knowledge - Building the future"; Bac Ninh Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2024 with a total of 100,625 entries from 280 schools at all levels (Primary, Secondary, High School) in the province; and held 03 talks. It participated in the Festival to promote books and develop reading culture - Celebrating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-2024) with the theme "Dien Bien Phu - The heroic epic echoes forever" and won the first prize for the entire delegation.
On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Songs being recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Provincial Library displayed documents with the theme "Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Songs - Quintessence and Identity" with many valuable documents and materials related to Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Songs from its origin to the present.
