Strengthening friendship, solidarity and development between Vietnam and Cuba

(BNP) - Viet Nam and Cuba have issued a Joint Statement right after General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam concluded a state visit to Cuba. From October 1 to October 3, the Bac Ninh provincial delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, visited and worked in Cuba.


PPC’s Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan thanks Permanent Member of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee's Secretariat Roberto Morales Ojeda for taking his time to welcome the delegation.

On October 2, PPC’s Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan and the delegation had a meeting with Mr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, Politburo member and Permanent Member of the PCC Central Committee's Secretariat. Also attending the meeting was Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long.

In the atmosphere of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, the two sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the cooperative relationship, mutual support and development. Mr. Roberto Morales Ojeda briefed on the Cuba’s socio-economic situation, discussed Party building work, and the development of Party members and Youth Union members. He thanked Bac Ninh province for its exchanges and support to Artemisa province of Cuba.

Mr. Roberto Morales Ojeda affirmed that this visit of the Bac Ninh provincial delegation (Vietnam) is an opportunity to strengthen relations between the provincial committees of the two countries to implement the approved cooperation agreements. This is also a part of the cooperation roadmap signed between the PCC and the CPV, aiming to learn from each other’s experiences and deal with the challenges that both countries are facing.

For his part, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan thanked Mr. Roberto Morales Ojeda for his warm welcome given to the delegation. Tuan believed that under the PCC’s wise leadership, the Cuban would soon overcome difficulties and challenges, and achieve rapid and prosperous development.

Tuan informed about the delegation’s visit and work to Cuba to strengthen cooperation in food production and biotechnology, and learn from Cuba’s important economic centers such as Mariel Special Development Zone. It is expected to implement the upcoming cooperation plan between Bac Ninh province and Artemisa province of Cuba as well as promote some Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Vimariel Industrial Park invested by Vietnam’s Viglacera Corporation in Cuba.

He affirmed that this visit was a great success. He hoped that enterprises of Bac Ninh in particular and Vietnam in general would seek cooperation and investment opportunities, especially in the fields of industry, food processing and biotechnology which Cuba has strengths.

On the same day, the delegation visited the Center displaying documents introducing the revolutionary activities of President Fidel Castro Ruz in the capital city La Habana.

Directly listening to the introduction of documents and images of activities of leader Fidel Castro Ruz, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed his respect and appreciation for the preservation and propaganda work of the Documentary Exhibition Center. Tuan thanked Cuban friends for always being aware of and promoting the introduction of documents about the country and people of Vietnam, linking the activities of President Fidel Castro Ruz in the work of propaganda and education of revolutionary traditions, especially for the young generation of Cuba.
